World premiere of the screen ballet The Seagull. A Ballet Story

This news will delight both dance admirers and cinema art lovers.

On September 26, the world premiere of Boris Eifman’s film The Seagull. A Ballet Story will take place at the Aurora cinema in St. Petersburg. The choreographer, who traditionally was the project's director and producer, will personally present to the spectators the film version of the ballet based on the play by Anton Chekhov that is appreciated by audiences in Russia and abroad. The screening will be part of the cultural program of the XII St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum. The event begins at 16:00.

The screen ballet was shot in St. Petersburg in January and February 2025. Nikita Rozhdestvensky, a successful Russian filmmaker, acted as director of photography. The spectators will see in the film adaptation Eifman Ballet leading soloists Vladimir Afonichkin (Konstantin Treplev), Mara Tudose (Nina Zarechnaya), Sergey Volobuev (Boris Trigorin), Maria Abashova (Irina Arkadina) as the main characters of the production.
