Phenomenal success of Eifman Ballet in Istanbul

The Istanbul tour of the Company, which closed triumphantly at the beginning of the week, undoubtedly became one of the brightest and most significant pages in its recent creative history.

It was during this tour that the Turkish audience truly discovered the Russian modern choreographic repertoire created by Eifman Ballet. Over the course of four evenings, the Company, at the invitation of the Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet of Turkey, presented the famous productions Anna Karenina and Russian Hamlet at the main venue of the country, the Atatürk Cultural Center. All performances were held to full houses and were crowned with standing plaudits, which the dancers received from enthusiastic local spectators. The performances of Eifman Ballet enriched the program of the 16th International Istanbul Opera and Ballet Festival.

Dance connoisseurs in Turkey’s largest city were captivated by the choreographic psychodramas they saw for the first time, and, in their numerous reviews published on social networks, they called the performances of Anna Karenina and Russian Hamlet “mesmerizing” and “stunning”. “Every scene is a masterpiece,” one viewer wrote. “It was epic,” another comment noted. The author of another review admitted: “We can watch it over and over again.”

Congratulations to the Company on its spectacular success!
